Scholarships

1.  Scholarships are available only to Milby High School students.

 

2.  Scholarship applications are distributed to College and Career Readiness Manager and Senior Counselors.

 

3.  Applications will have a deadline each year and must be submitted to the Senior Counselors or the College and Career Readiness Manager or bear a postmark by the deadline date.

 

4.  The Scholarship Committee will review each application.  Using the information on the Scholarship Guidelines and Selection Criteria form, the criteria scores will be entered on a Scholarship Guideline Scoresheet.

 

5.  If we continue the practice of interviewing the students, we will call each one and schedule the dates for the interviews.

 

6.  We will obtain a list of the scholarships received by each student from the College and Career Readiness Manager.  The students who receive the “big scholarships” will be eliminated in order to give other deserving students who  received small or no scholarships  a chance to attend college.

 

7.  Once the Scholarship Guideline Scoresheet is fully completed, we prepare spreadsheets from the scoresheets – one alphabetical and another one in the order of points received.  

 

8.  The scholarships are awarded to the students with the highest points.
